Trophies were pocketed rather than balls last weekend as the great and the good of the Spalding and District Snooker and Billiards League celebrated the culmination of an exciting 2017/18 season in style.
The event at Spalding Services Club on Friday, May 11 was a night to remember for the Highest Achievement Award winner Nigel Brasier.

Despite suffering from motor neurone disease, the Donington A dynamo helped power his team to the title by recording the joint-most snooker wins over the season alongside Paul Spicer of Crowland C.
The winners of the various divisions and cups were all on hand to collect their awards, including league champions Services E.
Susan Lefley, the league’s match secretary, said: “It was another very successful evening for the Spalding Snooker and Billiards League at the annual Dinner and Trophy Presentation which was enjoyed by 130 league members.
“The Highest Achievement this year was awarded to Donington’s Nigel Brasier who, despite his own health issues, not only led his team to victory in the second division, but won several of the league’s major trophies.
“He has also raised thousands of pounds for The Motor Neurone Disease Association organising a yearly snooker tournament.
“The next league season will start in September with the welcome addition of two new snooker teams.”
