Smith treble in gr-eight win for Joof’s Holbeach United Reserves

Jack Smith notched a hat-trick to inspire high-flying Holbeach United Reserves to an 8-1 victory over Deeping Rangers Reserves on Saturday.

Keiran Rose (2), Rob Lewsley (2) and Paul Newcombe also notched for Omar Joof’s Tigers, who remain third in the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division.

Holbeach are just two points behind leaders Moulton Harrox, although they’ve played four games more than them.

Also third in the league are Sutton Bridge United, after they earned a 3-1 victory at Division One rivals Warboys Town.

Goal machine Matt Eaton scored all three goals for Bridge, who are eight points behind leaders Stamford Lions with a game in hand.

Moulton Harrox Reserves were another side on winning form in Division One.

Cameron Cope, Nigel Steadman, Ben Wiggins and Declan Earth all bagged as they defeated visitors Netherton United Reserves 4-2 to go tenth.

Down in Division Two, Pinchbeck United Reserves suffered a 5-3 reverse at home to Oakham United Reserves.

Jamie Francis, Steven Juckikas and Mircea Vechiv got the home goals at Knight Street.

In Division Three, a Scott Pemberton treble helped Tydd St Mary batter visitors Oundle Town Reserves 7-3.

Paul Clarke, Stuart Easey, Tim Lowe and James Clayden also got in on the act for the Saints.

Meanwhile, Long Sutton Athletic Reserves are now second in Division Four after a thrilling 4-3 victory at Huntingdon Rovers.

Mark Garner hit a double for the Magpies, while Tom Grantham and Jeremy King grabbed the other goals.

A Luke Baines goal couldn’t stop Whaplode Drove going down 2-1 at home to Holbeach Bank, while strikes from Rob Gowler and Dan Whitrid weren’t enough for Sutton Bridge Reserves as they were beaten 7-2 at Brotherhood Sports.

Tydd St Mary Reserves were also beaten, with Daniel Taylor their scorer in a 3-1 loss at AFC Stanground Reserves.

The only game with South Holland interest in Division Five saw Holbeach United A edge out FC Peterborough Reserves 2-1. Dexter Facey and Jamie Juckes scored.
