Pinchbeck Cricket Club reflected on another satisfactory cricket season with a well-attended annual awards night.
The past season saw the club finish fourth in South Lincs and Border League Division Two for the second successive year – and expectations remain very optimistic ahead of 2016.
Skipper Danny Jackson was the most notable trophy winner as he took away the batting award and was also voted the Players’ Player of the Year. Jackson was an ever-present in the side throughout the season and led from the front, notching up 491 runs and picking up 17 wickets.
Vice-captain Nick Crook shared the bowling award with James Langford – both took 24 wickets apiece – while Langford also picked up the fielding gong. Langford was also given special recognition by the captain for his hat-trick against Baston.
Other award winners were Alex Cole (young player), Matt Kidd (most improved) and Tony Sheppard (senior player)
The club are particularly grateful to caterers Sheppard’s Delight, who put on an excellent meal during the evening.
- Pinchbeck’s pre-season net sessions are expected to commence from March, and, as always, the club welcomes new players. Further details and contact information is on the club’s website www.pinchbeckcc.co.uk.
