Six new jobs with new branch of Branch Bros

A landscape, timber and building supplies merchant plans to open a new Holbeach depot in April or May, creating about six new jobs.

Branch Bros, which was established in Deeping St James and also has a larger site in Bourne, has been working on a plan to convert the former Boston Tractors site, in Boston Road South, for around two years.

Managing director Ashley Branch said: “We believe we can help to keep business in Holbeach rather than customers and contractors having to travel outside of the town to get some of their materials.
“We strongly believe our business will be a great asset to the town and its residents as well as all the tradesmen working in the area.
“We are essentially rolling out what we already do in Bourne and The Deepings and that business model has proved to be very successful and popular with our customers.”

The firm expects to employ around eight people at the Holbeach branch, with  a plan for two staff to transfer from existing sites and an additional six positions in sales and customer services, including shop and yard work, timber cutting and deliveries. Recruitment is likely to begin in March.

Branch Bros also hopes to run deliveries from the Holbeach site and has applied for permission to keep an HGV there, which will create an additional job for a driver.

Mr Branch added: “The location is perfect for us. We like to be part of the community and that site is quite close to the town centre for local trade and on that busy road just off the bypass and just opposite Tesco so is very visible.”

Branch Bros celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and already employs around 40 people.
