Stand by for year of £8.8m Holbeach roadworks

Plans to unlock land for 900 homes in Holbeach and create a new food enterprise zone (FEZ), where more than 2,000 people could work, are pushing forward.

Lincolnshire County Council’s executive will be asked to give various authorities, to include land sales and purchases, to allow the plans to progress when it meets on Tuesday.(Feb 7)

Work on associated new roundabouts at the A151/A17 junction and just south of it on the A151, expected to begin in May, will take up to a year and cost around £8.8million, a report to the executive says.
The report says: “Delivery of the FEZ will be facilitated by the completion of a programme of inter-related projects.”

Consideration is being given to creating the FEZ in two phases, due to ongoing negotiations over the purchase of part of the site, it adds.
The FEZ will be to the east of the A151 with residential development to the west.
