The top two in the Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck and District Summer League were without a game so Services Club B took advantage to move into second place with an 18-9 home win over Consti Club Z.
After taking an 11-1 lead after the first four games, wins for Dan Merrill, Callum Ward and Brandon Elderkin saved the Consti from a bigger defeat. Ady Smith of the Services had a 16-dart leg in the last singles, winning 3-0 against Paul Merrill. Smith also hit a 180 in his pairs game.
Bottom side Lincoln Arms D are still looking for their first win after losing 15-12 at home to Green Dragon A. Game of the night was between Dan Gent and Jon Goor with both players hitting 180s. It was Goor who came out on top, winning 2-1.
In Division B, Consti Club B did not play, allowing Pied Calf to go top, despite losing 14-13 at Green Dragon Z. A 2-1 win in the last singles for Brendon Clark over Leon Carter secured victory for Dragon.
Lincoln Arms C remain winless after losing 18-9 at home to Kirton Leisure. Duane Harrison and Jay Fountain were the only winners for Lincoln, both with 2-1 singles wins.
Pinchbeck FC B went to the summit of Division C thanks to a 16-11 win at Green Dragon C. Tom Elderkin had a 120 checkout and a 16-dart leg in his 3-0 win over Alex Hackett. Ben Anthony was the only singles success for Dragon, beating Sam Clift 3-0 in the last game.
Consti Club D got a 16-11 win at Pinchbeck Club C. Nick Collins secured victory with a 3-0 win over Jay Vernalls in the final singles game.
The Winter League Ladies singles final, between Stacey Banister (Lincoln Arms D) and Casey Hill (Lincoln Arms A), which had to be postponed on finals night. Both players were unable to attend but the restaging at the Lincoln Arms on Wednesday saw Banister come out victorious 2-0 to secure her fourth successive title. An upset came in Division Three of the Spalding League with Drayman’s C beating top-of-the-table Ship Long Sutton 8-1. That kept Drayman’s hopes of finishing as runners-up alive, although three other teams are also in the mix.
Drayman’s won all three pairs games and then five of the six singles. The only winner for the Ship was Tom Semper against Scott O’Connell. Drayman’s John Mackenzie had a 106 checkout.
Green Dragon also kept their hopes alive by beating Riverside Hotel 6-3. It was 3-3 at the midway point but wins for Finn Rodgers, Adam Rear and Mick Holstead secured the points.
Lincoln B also won 6-3, having trailed 2-1 against Moulton Harrox after the pairs. Ian Tilley made it 2-2 but Chloe Wicks put Moulton back in the driving seat. Lincoln then kicked on and wins for Nigel Goodwin, Andy Palmer, Sharon Barnard and John Charlton took the points. Vlad Fomkinas had a maximum 180.
In Division One, Consti A secured runners-up spot without even playing, while league champions Tigers C maintained their top form with a 6-3 win against Rose & Crown. Mark Horspool was the player of the night with two 180s and teamed up with Simon Hill for a 15-dart leg. To top things off he had a 13-dart leg in his singles victory. Drayman’s A has a 5-4 win over Ye Olde Abbey. They started off the better and found themselves 3-1 up but wins for Scott Lawrence, JJ Bird and Pete Boardman turned things and Abbey were 4-3 up going into the last two games. Wins for Phil Newton and Richard Cooper got the Drayman’s the win. Josh Grainger fired in a maximum 180 and had a 130 checkout. Another 5-4 game went in favour of Lincoln Arms against Consti E. First blood went to Consti when they went 2-1 up in the pairs but Ben Chester put Lincoln level. Josh Ford and Jason Chilvers won to put Consti 4-2 ahead. Ted Howling had a 133 checkout in his game against Jason Chilvers. Lincoln held their nerve and veteran Steve Stancer, Luke Rhodes, with a 180, and Dave Bourne all won to claim victory. In the pairs, Craig Woods, Mick Atkin had an 18-dart leg, which was bettered by Luke Rhodes and Dave Bourne who had a 14-dart leg.
In Division Two, Tigers B kept their chances of winning the league alive with a 5-4 win over Holbeach Services.
Tigers raced into a 3-0 lead but two wins for Holbeach put the game back into their reach. Charlie Henderson stretched Tigers lead but wins for Mick O’Cock and Chris Blakey levelled the game. Danny Goddard went on last and beat Chris Chamberlain 2-1 to seal the victory. Dave Henderson and Mike O’cock both hit maximum 180s.
There was also a 6-3 win for Consti D against Drayman’s B. Steve Emery had a 110 checkout for Consti and captain Ady Smith had a 180 in his victory over Conor Hughes.
