Sensational 67 for Bourne ace Bates

A sensational 67 break from Jason Bates helped Bourne SC B to a brilliant 6-0 win in Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League on Thursday night.

Bates (O77) beat Consti E’s Martin Anderson (07) in the final frame to finish off the rout.
Nick Cunnington (O14), Elliot Gaunt (O28), Joel Scampion (R7) and Kieran Richards-Witham (O21) were the other winners, with breaks from Richards-Witham (39), Gaunt (33) and Scampion (22cl).
The win moves Bourne SC B up to sixth.
A top of the table clash between clubmates Bourne SC A and C saw the C team come out on top, winning 4-2.
The victory puts the two teams equal on 66 points each, with the A team in first place by just two frames.
Sean Jeynes (O14) and George Neary Phillips (O21) took the first two frames for the C team, before Oliver Player (O28) took a frame back beating Chris Page (O7) by a single point.
Pete Hodgson-Kerry (O28) won the fourth frame, taking the match to a decider, which was won by Martin Ulyatt (O7).
Services C have dropped from second to fourth, following a 5-1 loss to Holbeach D.
Jordan Philpott (R14) got Services off to a good start but was to be their only winner.
Paul Daw (O28), Denis Hix (R7), Don Monk (O14) and Ian Woodberry (scr) took the next four frames giving Holbeach the win.
Daw knocked in a 38 break on his way to victory.
Boundary A jumped a place to third thanks to a 5-1 win over Holbeach C.
Pete King (R7), John Tidswell (O21), Elliott Cox (R7) and Daniel Smith (O7) were winners for Boundary, while Dan Ashton (O7) took the solitary frame for Holbeach, winning on the black.
Services A got the better of Donington C, beating them 4-2 away.
Vince Fitter (O35), Phil Spencer (O7) and Jake Haslam (O7) got the wins for Services.
In Division Two, Consti B jumped two places to second following a 5-1 win over Holbeach F.
Colin Dodd (O21) took the first frame for Holbeach, but it went downhill after that with Consti taking the next four.
Winners were Martin Fear (O7), Mick Johnson (O28), Steve Spencer (R21) and John Keeton (O7).
Consti G are holding on to first place, 16 points ahead.
They beat Holbeach B 4-2 with frame wins for Darren Woodberry (O42), Mark Woodberry (O56) and Mark Wilkinson (O14).
Darren Woodberry knocked in a 46 break, while brother Mark got a 43.
Pete Mullane (O28) and Barry Haynes (O7) earned the points for Holbeach.
A 5-1 win away over Gosberton A, saw Pyramid B jump a place to fifth.
Lester Gaunt (O56) got two 32 breaks in his win over Carl Wand (O7), while Richard Clark (O7) chalked up breaks of 31 and 20 while beating Adam Twigg (O14). Pyramid’s other winners were Reegan Cooke-Holmes (O7) and Roy Jackson (R14).
Geoff Wand (R14) got the point for Gosberton.
Whittlesey C are back at the top of Division Three after a 4-2 home win over Donington D.
Gosberton D have dropped to second with no match on Thursday, and Donington B hold on to third place despite a 4-2 loss to Gosberton C.
Donington D got off to a good start, winning the first two frames courtesy of Geoff Harris (R28) and Ken Staples (R21), but Whittlesey went on to take the final three. Their winners were Garry Thewliss (R7), Paul Cook (O14) and Simon Parker (O7).
