Holbeach athlete Eljay Secker took a tremendous sixth place in the English Schools National combined events finals at Bedford last weekend.
In his first year as an under-20 athlete, Secker has adjusted very well to new hurdle heights and implement weights that are all increasing from under-17 level.
After taking the Lincolnshire county hurdles title in May, he went on to win the Boston combined events championship and take the county decathlon title at the start of September.
At club level, Secker also competed in the National League finals for PANVAC, running a great 200m and taking the high jump win with 1.78m.
Remaining at national level he also ran in the English Schools 110m hurdles finals at Manchester representing Lincolnshire, before the season finale at Bedford which saw him set personal bests (PBs) in shot putt, 100m and pole vault.
Since taking up athletics, Secker has now competed in five national English Schools finals and represented England in the School games at Loughborough, competing in hurdles and 4x100m relay.
