School’s big Children In Need fundraiser

Kind children and staff at a primary school had their eye on raising hundreds for Children in Need last week.

Everyone at Weston Hills Primary School got involved with a fun day of activities for the national charity.

Children designed their own eye patches and then donated 20p to enter them into a competition.

Everybody in school also made a donation so they could wear spotty or Pudsey clothes for the day which included during the daily mile, an activity everyone in the school gets involved in.

In total they raised £417.

The school council held a Bring and Buy sale with all proceeds going to Children In Need where there were lots of goodies to buy as well as some delicious Pudsey cupcakes.

The school’s learning mentor Alison Hills, said: “It’s amazing how much money we raised given we are only a small village school, yet our parents, staff and wonderful children have worked so hard to raise donations for this deserving cause.

“Big thanks go to all our children, staff and parents.

“The school staff along with our parents form such a strong, caring team.”
