School bags new dug outs

Spalding Grammar School has netted a new dug out for its football pitches thanks to a local firm.

CG Godfrey Ltd has built the new feature next to the main football pitch.

The dugout was officially unveiled this week by the company’s Karl Royce, and representatives of the senior football’s captaincy team.

1st XI captain Kian Weetman, was joined by vice-captains Tom Flanz and Jacob Sharman, along with 2nd XI captain Tom Bland.

The donation of the built dugout follows the sponsoring of the 1 st XI kit which the team continues to wear with pride for every match.

1st XI manager and assistant headteacher Dave Endersbee said: “We want to extend our sincerest thanks to Karl Royce, Matthew Morley, and the C G Godfrey Ltd team for the installation of our new dugout.

“This, along with the previously donated kit, helps our students become really excited to see the facilities of our football provision improve to a higher standard, and take even greater pride in wearing the SGS badge”.

Matthew Morley, managing director, said: “given C G Godfrey Ltd have multiple contracts with SHDC, where possible the business will attempt to reinvest into the local community.

“It has been rewarding to work with Spalding Grammar School on these projects, which are an example of the local community projects that we aim to support.”
