Royal Mail Cart are through to the last 32 of the National Men’s Bowls England Top Club championships.
It came after a 4-1 win against Nottinghamshire team Langwith Junction at Holwell Sports in Melton Mowbray.
Kevin Ekins won by four shots (14-10) and the triples team of Steve Hill, Andy Dunham and Dominic McVittie pulled away to win 22-8 in 14 ends.
The pairs match went to the final end with Chris Mycock and club captain Jordan Philpott holding out for a match-deciding 16-13 win, The four-bowl singles and fours matches were both level and did not need to come to a finish with Martin Spencer all square at 12-12 and Dan Mills, Phil Cooke, Graham Smith and Ashley Caress level at 13-13.
Mail Cart will play Leicestershire section winners Kingscroft at a neutral venue on Saturday.
Many team members were then on their way to Ipswich as part of the EBF Durham Centenary Trophy team to play the Southern Section final against Suffolk qualifiers Marlborough BC.
In a 25-end match of two-bowl triples over four rinks, Marlborough used home advantage well and emerged as 89-73 victors.

Mail Cart’s open EBF County Centenary Pairs A team won their Southern Section opening round 2-1 at Castle BC to earn a ‘trip’ to their own B team.
Rink scores: Tracy Philpott, Jordan Philpott won 25-6; Julie Allen, Martin Spencer won 20-13; John Allen, Chris Mycock lost 10-18.
The B team made progress thanks to a 2-1 win at Helpringham.
Rink scores: Mick Dolton, Paul Turner won 20-14; Ben Sharp, Aidan Brickles won 20-15; Nigel Brown, Ian Brickles lost 14-19.
Mail Cart C were comfortable 3-0 winners at home to Sutton Bridge in the first round of the Spalding & District Sid Lane Cup.
They will face Mail Cart B in the quarter-final after their opponents Whaplode Drove B conceded.

Several Royal Mail Cart members are in action at the Bowls Lincolnshire County semi-finals and finals this weekend at Blackstones BC. Winners will represent the county at the Bowls England national finals at Royal Leamington Spa next month:

Bowls Lincolnshire’s Mixed o60 Inter-County Championship team, won their national second round match by 44 shots (118-74) at Bowls Nottinghamshire.
The team included Royal Mail Cart’s Phil Cooke and Martin Simpson.
They will take on Bowls Durham in the quarter-final at Dunnington, York.
Royal Mail Cart A were crowned Section 4 EBA Fours League champions thanks to a six-point haul at Moulton Harrox
Needing five points to seal the title, they won by 51 shots to 44 to qualify for the end-of-season County Club Championships at Bourne.
The top winning rink was skipped by Martin Spencer, with Steve Hill, Phil Cooke and Graham Smith, who won 20-13.
Other scores: Ben Sharp, Chris Mycock, Chelsea Spencer, Andy Dunham won 18-11; Dan Mills, Martin Simpson, Ben Wilson, Kevin Ekins lost 13-20.
By contrast the B team fell to another defeat and remain without a win after losing 8-0, by 54 shots to 34 against Gosberton.
