Roberts holds nerve to keep Lincoln in the clear

Lincoln Arms A stayed clear at the top of Division A in the Dewhursts Trophies Pinchbeck & District Summer League after edging out Consti Club C 14-13 at home.

Sam Roberts clinched the victory in the penultimate singles with a 3-0 win over Josh Faulkner. The match produced several big moments for the visitors, with Jacob Herd hitting two 180s in his 2-1 win over Paul Blow and combining with Paul Faulkner for a 15-dart leg in the pairs. Faulkner added another 15-dart leg and a 180 in his 3-0 singles win over John Charlton. For the hosts, Steve Gaughan struck a 113 checkout, while Steve Stancer and Paul Blow recorded a 17-dart leg in the pairs.

Royal Mail Cart closed the gap at the top to three points with an 18-9 home win over Kirton Leisure. Chris Fidler delivered a superb all-round performance, checking out 101 and 100, hitting a 180, and producing legs of 15 and 18 darts. He also hit a 15-dart leg in the pairs with Billy Smith. Jason Vines added a 16-dart leg for Mail Cart.

Green Dragon A secured a much-needed 17-10 home win over Services Club B. Scott Williams hit a 180 and a 17-dart leg and with Kiaran Grove in the pairs produced an 18-dart leg. Services’ highlights included 180s from Andy Mason and Ady Smith, with Smith also hitting a 16-dart leg.

In Division B, Green Dragon Z extended their lead with a 16-11 win at Consti Club D, helped by a 180 from Dean Peacock.

Pinchbeck FC A moved into second place, despite a 15-12 home defeat to Consti Club Z, with Tracey Baldwin and Archie Austen hitting a 17-dart leg in their 3-0 pairs win.

Lincoln Arms D made ground on the leaders with a strong 19-8 win at Drayman’s Arms Q. Tony Spinks impressed with a 161 checkout, while Luke Rhodes added a 180 for the Lincoln side.

Services Club A moved to the top of Division C after a 19-8 home win over Lincoln Arms C. Acker Kelk checked out 105 for the Services and Steve Doades hit a 180 for Lincoln.

Green Dragon C picked up their first win of the season with a tight 14-13 victory at Consti Club A. Jamie Balding secured the decisive final game leg, while Olivia Balding produced a 109 finish for the Dragon.

Earlier in the week, Green Dragon Z progressed to the second round of the Ward Trophy with a dominant 8-1 win at Consti Club A.
