Restored film double-bill

If you hide behind the cushions when a Dalek appears, look away now.

Brand new 4K restorations of two classic Dr Who films starring Peter Cushing will be on the screen later this month.

Dr Who and The Daleks was made in 1965 and was the first big screen film adaptaion of British TV’s most iconic sci-fi hero.

It was also the first time the doctor was ever seen in colour.

Having invented the TARDIS, the strange machine capable of travelling in other dimensions, the Dr and his three accomplices set forth on a quest through time and space.

The journey takes them to dark, undiscovered depths of the universe to the planet of Skaro with its merciless force of destruction known as the Daleks.

The second film on the double-bill is Dalek’s Invasion Earth 2150AD and sees Cushing return to the big screen.

The future of Earth belongs to the Daleks but deep within the London Underground a group of freedom fighters are planning an attack.

The feature length specials have a running time of just over three hours and will be on at the South Holland Centre on Saturday, August 27 at 2pm. Tickets are £6 and more information can be found on the centre’s website.
