Danny Clifton is backing his Holbeach United side to put up stern resistance in Saturday’s top versus bottom clash at Long Eaton United (3pm).
The already-relegated Tigers go to table-topping Long Eaton some 77 points behind them after 31 Uhlsport UCL Premier Division North games – making them a very long shot to spring a surprise.
Clifton isn’t expecting a miracle, but he’s confident that his youthful side won’t be embarrassed in Derbyshire.
“I few weeks ago I think we might have been looking at 10-0,” admitted the Tigers boss. “But we’ve stopped conceding in the same way and look more compact.
“Every corner used to be a goal, but these lads have been gaining valuable experience and we’re full of fight.
“I can’t pretend we’ll go there and win, but we’ll be harder to beat.”
