Reindeer bring real festive feel as Spalding’s Christmas lights are switched on

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas and Spalding is lit-up and ready for the big day.

An afternoon of fun and games was held in the town on Saturday when a pair of reindeer joined the entertainment.

Craft-making sessions were held at Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens where there was also a special Christmas story time with Father Christmas.

There was a special game of garden Eye-Spy and a festive trail for young visitors to explore.

But Dancer and Prancer were the star attractions as they accompanied Santa who was being told what his little visitors would like as presents.

At Hall Place in Spalding, there was street entertainment including stilt-walkers and circus elves.

The Ukulele Orchestra, Spalding Brass Band, Vibe Choir and Holbeach Town Band added the music as traditional carols and songs were performed.

Santa closed the event when he officially switched-on the tree lights at 4.30pm and they will stay on throughout the festive period.
