Raising thousands for school

Fundraising by Spalding Grammar School’s Parents and Friends Association (PFA) over the last seven years has topped £100,000.

That’s helped purchased almost £30,000 of equipment for the school including tennis tables, improved sound systems, weather analysis instruments and a 3D printer

The PFA, which has 12 members on its committee, comes together with the headmaster, school staff and pupils.

Through its year-round events, the group is able to consider annual bids from any department across the school.

The most recent fundraiser was a quiz night this month which brought in more than £900.

They’ve also just launched their biggest fundraiser for the year, the Easter Raffle

Assistant headteacher Dave Endersbee: “As PFA liaison, I am always in awe of the generosity shown by its members, giving up their time to organise and run events to raise funds for our students. They help create an excellent atmosphere of fun and togetherness.

“The money they raise goes an awfully long way to help provide educational and enrichment resources that simply cannot be afforded through Government capitation; all to the benefit of our students.”
