Raising awareness of dementia help

A group of people involved in care of others with dementia came together last week as part of a special event.

Tonic Health hosted the Dementia Action Support event at its Holbeach Hub as part of Dementia Action Week.

It involved information stands for the support available for those with the condition and their carers, plus the chance to try out specially designed activities.

Zoe Turner, Tonic Health’s dementia coordinator, said: “We had service providers giving advice to the public and taster sessions of indoor curling, archery, seated exercise and musical bingo from the 50s and 60s which the whole sports hall took part in.

“Lots of members of the public gained valuable expert information from this afternoon as well as having fun.”
