Quadring WI celebrates decade

A Women’s Institute branch has celebrated its 10th anniversary and is on the lookout for anyone who wants to join them.

Over 30 members of Quadring WI gathered last week to celebrate the group’s special birthday.

From its first meeting in May 2016, Quadring WI has gone from strength-to-strength, welcoming newcomers to the village with a lively programme of talks and activities.

This month’s speaker was local author Sarah Bennett who talked about how she had written and published 22 books since 2017, when she sent off a speculative novella to an American publisher.

South Lincolnshire WI Federation chair, Louise Read, congratulated Quadring WI on a successful 10 years and their continuing impact and described how all WIs have the aim of building connections and supporting their members.

Elizabeth, the current president, gave everyone a specially designed tote bag to mark the occasion.

“Being president of such a lively and friendly group of women is a joy,” she said. “Meeting visitors and new members each month and seeing them join in with the current members and become friends is one of the highlights of my role.”

The club is always looking for new members.

It meets on the second Wednesday of every month, at 7.30pm in Quadring Church Hall, Main Road, Quadring.
