Potential derby double for Spalding United in FA Cup as rivals Deeping Rangers and Stamford await

There’s a tasty South Lincolnshire derby in the extra preliminary round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup as Spalding United have been drawn to face Deeping Rangers.

The Tulips will welcome Rangers to the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field on Saturday, August 6.

Deeping, who are under the new management of Luke Hipwell and Scott Bogusz, play a level below the Tulips in the Uhlsport UCL Premier Division North.

The winners of that tie will then move on to another derby clash in the form of a trip to Stamford at the Zeeco Stadium two weeks later.

Spalding, meanwhile, have been drawn away in the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy.

They will travel to Newcastle Town (Sept 10), with the winners making the trip to Kempston Rovers or Dereham Town.

Having not featured in any pre-season action at the weekend, Spalding host St Ives Town this Saturday (3pm) and visit Deeping Rangers on Tuesday (7.45pm) for a dress rehearsal of their cup clash next month.
