A group of South Holland posties will hit the heights of Mount Snowdon to raise money for a cancer charity.
Postal worker Louise Bycraft, who delivers in Pinchbeck, decided to organise the event in memory of her father Geoff Smith (pictured), who was also a postie.
He died in 2015 and Louise said she wanted to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support to thank the charity for its help and support.
“I chose Snowdon because we have family connections in North Wales and it was one of my Dad’s favourite places to visit,” she said.
Mr Smith was a postman in the Spalding area in the 1990s and Louise (45) joined the service in 2000.
The group of nine people includes five postal workers and Louise’s uncle and cousin. They will be heading to the summit on September 1.
“Despite the family connection, I have never been to Snowdon so I am really looking forward to it,” she said.
Delivering mail in the area sees Louise walking around nine miles a day, but she said the flatlands of South Holland may not be great training for the climb to 3,300ft (1,085m).
The group will also be walking in memory of Gary Shepherd (55) who was the Pinchbeck who died from cancer and was the Pinchbeck postie before Louise.
“Gary was diagnosed with cancer the year dad died and he died earlier this summer and we wanted to remember him as well,” said Louise.
They are aiming to raise at least £800 for the charity and have created a Just Giving page for sponsors: www.justgiving.com/fundraising.louise-bycraft
There are also forms at the Bull in Pinchbeck along with a collection tin.
The full team is: Jenny Dobson, Ade Mills, Karl Smith, Ady Thorold, Tom Thorold, Dawn Jones, John Jones and Louise.
