Posh’s Peter Burrow hops across the county border to visit children in Spalding and Cowbit

Peter Burrow, the big rabbit mascot of Peterborough United football club, aka Posh, stopped off at schools in Cowbit and Spalding as part of the The Peterborough United Schools Initiative.

All of the pupils at the school received a free ticket to watch the football team play. and another ticket to take along a parent or carer.

Press Officer Phil Adlam said: “It was great to visit South View Primary School and visit Crowland as a town.

“The school made us feel extremely welcome and we hope to see as many youngsters at the school attend a future Posh match as possible. We have schools pretty much every day for the next few weeks and we are on track to hit our target ahead of Christmas.”

Last Friday, Peter hopped over to St Norbert’s Primary School in Spalding, as the big rabbit and the gang showed off their dancing skills with the children.

This is their first of a number of planned trips to schools in the Spalding area.

Mr Adlam said of the trip: “We were made to feel very welcome by St Norbert’s  Primary School and look forward to seeing some of the youngsters at forthcoming games.

“It is the first of a number of visits to the Spalding area in the next few weeks.”
