Poppy Appeal launches – and it’s not just poppies for sale!

Spalding branch of the Royal British Legion launches its annual Poppy Appeal on Saturday (October 24).

Volunteers will be at Sainsbury’s, a stall at Spalding market and Baytree Nurseries Garden Centre in Weston.

Organiser Peter Lyon said there are many other products on sale as well as poppies.
“We can organise wreaths. If they are sent in a block to me it costs a lot less in postage.
“There are also reflective poppies for children to have on school bags, plus pencils, rubbers and wristbands.”

Mr Lyon has also issued an appeal for extra volunteers. See his letter here.
