Poor start ends Tigers’ winning run

A dreadful start did for Holbeach United on Saturday, despite a valiant comeback at Great Yarmouth Town in the Thurlow Nunn Division One North.
The Tigers found themselves 4-0 down at the break after conceding three goals in the opening 20 minutes, the first from a penalty.
George Cozens scored twice and Jesse Fenn once before Sam Adams netted just before the break.
George Frost got the Tigers back into the game before Sam Carter twice netted to make it 4-3.
Despite continuing to create chances, Holbeach were unable to find a leveller.
It meant the end of a four-game winning run including the previous Wednesday night’s 4-0 success at home to Parson Drove.
In that game it was Holbeach who had a great start and raced into a 3-0 first half lead, led first of all by a brilliant Will Barnes goal.
Frost and Jack Prentice also netted before Barnes doubled his tally to seal the win.
In other news Holbeach have re-signed defender Ben Greenacre.
Tigers: Rigby, Greenacre, Cook, Oldham, Ling, Harris, Thorne, Barnes, Pilbeam, Prentice, Forst. Subs: Yambasu, Nicholson, Harris, Robertson.
