Police officers assaulted while investigating theft

Two police officers were assaulted in Spalding while investigating a theft.

The incident, which left the officers with minor injuries, occurred on Alexandria Road in the town on Thursday, March 7.

A 24-year-old man was arrested for assaulting an emergency worker and for theft.

Inspector Gareth Boxall of Spalding Police, said: “He remained in our custody until he was returned to prison as he was in breach of his release licence.

“We also arrested a 23 year old woman for possession of cannabis and on the direction of a warrant issued by Boston Magistrates Court for theft. She was held in custody and appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on March 8.”
