Poetry and singing at care home’s Easter event

A Spalding care home raised £142.20 for the residents comfort fund when it held a special Easter event last Monday.

The Rt Rev Robert Gillion, Assistant Bishop of Lincoln, attended the event at St John’s Care Home and members of the residents’ choir and poetry club sang hymns, read Easter poems and shared Easter memories.

Stephanie Lamont helped organise and said: “We were delighted to welcome to our home Bishop Robert, who welcomed everyone, sang with our choir and said prayers at the end of our concert.

“Refreshments were served afterwards and the Easter raffle was drawn.”

“Family and friends joined in with singing,” she added.

Spalding St John’s Care home hosts regular seasonal events for its residents, with in-house arts groups such as the choir and poetry group putting on performances to entertain other residents and visiting family members.
