Plenty of heart in Holbeach

Those people and businesses that make up the heart of Holbeach were recognised at a special ceremony.

District and county councillor Tracey Carter brought back her Hearts of Holbeach awards for a second year.

And the online event once again proved to be a huge success.

“It went really well,” Coun Carter said. “We’ve had about 4,000 views for the online ceremony and so much positive feedback.”

Thousands of votes were cast in the online poll.

Harold Payne was named as the Community Champion for his support of veterans with the South Holland branch of Little Miracles earning the Community Group Award.

Milkshake Madness landed the title of Best Food Premises while Tonwood Home Hardware picked up Best Customer Service from a Business.

Christine Brandon picked up the gong for being the Best Carer.

The award for Best Customer Service by an individual was won by Bryan Morriss, of Morriss and Haynes undertakers, with Sam Bailey, of Funky Dora’s, highly commended.

Royals Gym carried off the Best Service Industry Business Award while Jamie’s Carpets picked up the Best Local Trade Award.

Best Window Display went to Cards and More and the Overall Business of the Year was Bounce House Party.
Coun Carter added: “A huge thank you to everyone involved.”
