Plea for the return of any unused NHS equipment

The community health trust that manages the supply of specialist equipment that helps people stay in their own homes, has appealed to the public to return any unused equipment.

Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) has today asked for anyone with community support equipment to return it as soon as possible.

Among the items that are needed the most are; beds and mattresses, stools and equipment to assist toileting and mobility.

If you have equipment at home you are not using, you can arrange for collection by calling NRS Healthcare on 0345 121 2031 between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Louise Molina, operational and transformation delivery manager for the Lincolnshire Community Equipment Service, said: “In order to support our hospitals during the Covid-19 outbreak, it is vital we have enough community equipment to support patients who are discharged from hospital and to prevent people going into hospital who can best be supported at home.

“LCHS can assure the public that all NRS Healthcare drivers will be using the appropriate level of personal protective equipment for your household.

“Alternatively, all equipment, apart from beds and mattresses, can be left outside your front door on the day of collection.”
