Playground joy thanks to Friends

The brilliant fundraising efforts of parents have seen new playground equipment for a South Holland school.

Pupils at Pinchbeck East Church of England Primary Academy have started the new school year in style.
The Friends of the School, led by chair Louise Bottomley have been raising the funds to refresh the school playground over the last two years.
Everything from school discos, Christmas markets and race evenings have been organised to help boost finances.
The school officially launched the new facilities with a special ‘thank-you’ event for the Friends at the start of the academic year.
During the break over the summer, both the Key Stage One and Key Stage Two playgrounds have been refreshed.
They have had new markings and vibrant plants to attract butterfiies and bees. There are also new hand-crafted benches and tables, made by one of the pupils’ grandparents.
“Seeing the delighted faces of our pupils as they came back to school and saw the magnificent updates to their playground has been amazing,” said Teeny Vayro, head of school.
“We cannot thank the Friends of the school enough for their hard work and dedication raising the funds for this marvellous resource, especially the grandparent who took the time to hand craft the beautiful furniture.
“Pinchbeck is a member of the Infinity Academies Trust, who are committed to creating a community where everyone is ready to learn and prepared to flourish.”
Chief executive of the trust Gavin Booth said: “The dedication and generosity of the community at Pinchbeck East is truly incredible, and an integral part of what makes this school such a special place.”
