An outline application to build 40 homes in Pinchbeck has been passed, despite opposition from South Holland and the Deepings MP John Hayes.
Kirk Homes was given the green light to build on the site which borders Surfleet Road to the west and Green Lane to the south by South Holland District Council’s planning committee when it met on Wednesday, January 10.
The developer, which is based in Pinchbeck itself, will now look to formalise a full planning application for
the site.
Seven local objectors and Mr Hayes raised concerns including the development being built on agricultural land, safety concerns on the access, the impact on infrastructure and issues with drainage and sewerage.
However planning officers stated that the application would have no adverse impacts that would significantly outweigh the benefits of delivering the homes.
Coun Grocock: “I live in Pinchbeck. This development would lay nicely in that part of Pinchbeck.”
The director of Kirk Homes, James Kirk addressed the meeting himself.
He told the committee he was looking to bring retirement housing to the site among a third of the site being allocated to affordable housing when a full planning application is submitted.
“I’m very committed to working with the planners to ensure the development is as good as it can be and when completed a place where
local families will be proud to call home.”
