Pinchbeck Guides rise to the challenge

Three girls from 1st Pinchbeck (St Mary) Guide Unit have achieved their Baden Powell Awards, the top award achievable as a Guide.

Kelly Sawyer, Zoe Chappell and Molly Smith completed ten challenges in order to obtain the award.

Among the challenges they had to organise a disability awareness night and make a presentation about a current global issue.

All three girls are now Young Leaders and have also joined Pinchbeck Senior Section.

On the same night, current Senior Section members were presented with their Look Wider and Chief Guide Challenge.

Megan Rangeley, Esther Howard, Kelsey Taylor and Chloe Firth have to complete eight areas, called octants, in order to complete the Look Wider Programme.

The Chief Guide Challenge is awarded upon completion of phase one and two of the octants.

They are now undertaking a leadership qualification to enable them to be Guiders in the future.

The girls were presented their awards, certificates and badges at Alleycatz bowling alley in Spalding.
