Pilbeam the Holbeach hat-trick hero

A hat-trick from Connor Pilbeam saw Holbeach United to an excellent 4-1 win at home to Haverhill Rovers.
The Tigers moved seventh in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North, just outside the play off places, but with games in hand on nearly all of those above them.
Pilbeam took 22 minutes to complete his hat-trick and the team found themselves 4-0 up at the break.
Pilbeam was in clinical form to put the visitors to the sword before George Thorn added the fourth before half time.
Holbeach largely managed the second half well as Haverhill saw lots of possession, especially after pulling one back when Ryan Weaver captilaised on a mistake at the back to make it 4-1.
Haverhill did have a chance to make it an interesting finish ahead of the 10 minutes of stoppage time when they were given a penalty.
Max Rigby though made a brilliant save diving full stretch to his left to keep the score as it was.
Holbeach United were due to play FC Peterborough on Wednesday night (result not known at the time of going to press).
They then face a trip to Cornard United on Saturday before a shorter trip to Sleaford Town in the Lincolnshire Senior Trophy the following Wednesday.
Tigers: Rigby, Greenacre. Robertson, Nicholson, Johnson, Oldham, Harris, Barnes, Pilbeam, Prentice, Thorne. Subs: Cook, Ling, Smith, Frost.
