PDFL round-up: Lucky 13 for four-midable table-toppers Moulton Harrox

Runaway ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division leaders Moulton Harrox extended their unbeaten run to 13 games with a 4-0 victory over Peterborough Polonia at Broad Lane on Saturday.

Goals from Danny Maddison, Marcus Parry, Martin Sandall and Joe Townsend made it 12 wins from 13 games for the table-toppers, who are seven points clear at the summit.

This weekend will see Kev Nottingham’s side play host to second-placed Thorney (2pm) in a game that could see them tighten their grip on top spot.

Elsewhere in the top tier, Holbeach United Reserves remain fourth after a 2-1 home victory over Oakham United.

Another Callum Simmonds strike and an own goal were enough for the high-flying Tigers.

Also victorious were Sutton Bridge United, who saw off Ketton 4-3 at Memorial Park. Sam Cooper, Jake Lally, Joseph Sutton and sub Kurt Scott netted for Bridge, who are now eighth in the table.

It was a tough day for Long Sutton Athletic and Tydd, however.

Edwin Pentney’s strike couldn’t stop Tydd going down 5-1 at Thorney, while a Connor Bell goal was all Sutton had to savour in a 7-1 drubbing at Peterbrough Sports Development.

Down in Division One, doubles from Alex Lyon (2) and Ashley Wilson (2), plus a George Smith strike, helped Spalding Town win 5-1 at Oakham United Reserves.

Crowland Town were also 6-0 winners over Eye United, with Ashton Capes (2), Simon Acton, Juliano Resta, Matt Smith and Jordan Kirchin all bagging.

Champions Moulton Harrox Reserves, meanwhile, suffered a 4-2 reverse at high-flying Bretton North End.

Matt Barnett and Keith England got their goals.

Down in Division Two, a double from Harry Grigas and strikes from Danny Firth and Josh Ling helped Whaplode Drove earn their first win of the season, 4-3 at home over Cardea.

But Spalding Athletic lost 4-1 at Ketton Reserves.
