PDFL round-up: Holbeach United Reserves go goal crazy in demolition derby, Tydd Reserves win thriller

Holbeach United Reserves were in red-hot form on Saturday as they crushed South Holland rivals Crowland Town Reserves 10-1.

The one-sided ChromaSport PDFL Cup clash saw Kyle Compton, who has had just minutes for the first team recently, helping himself to a hat-trick.

Will Barnes (2), Kieron McConnell (2), Ryan Cook, Oliver Foster and sub Connor Bell also notched for the Tigers, with William Knight grabbing the Crowland consolation.

There were double figures scored in another cup clash involving a South Holland side too, but Pinchbeck United Reserves were on the receiving end.

Indeed, they were humbled 14-1 by an Oakham United side managed by ex-Holbeach first-team manager Seb Hayes.

In the Premier Division, Crowland Town’s first team were also beaten as visitors Stilton United handed them a 2-1 home reverse.

Danny Firth netted for Crowland at Snowden Field, but a double from Dan Stephens won it for second-placed Stilton.

It was a day to forget for Long Sutton Athletic Reserves in Division Two, as Farcet United handed them a 7-0 home reverse.

Antonio Dello Russo proved to be the difference at London Road with five of the seven goals for Farcet.

Down in Division Three, Tydd Reserves enjoyed a thrilling victory as they edged out visitors FC Hampton Reserves 4-3.

In Division Four, a goal from Joseph Sutton wasn’t enough for Sutton Bridge United as they slipped up 4-1 at table-topping Thorpe Wood Rangers.

Having led the table in the early months of the season, Bridge are now 21 points off the summit down in fifth place.

  • Moulton Harrox return to Premier Division action on Saturday with a home game against Stamford Lions in the PDFL Cup (2pm).
