PDFL round-up: Four-some Harrox on winning form again, Crowland edge thriller

Moulton Harrox continued their flawless start to The Peterborough Senior Cup with a fine 4-0 victory at ICA Sports on Saturday.

In the second round of fixtures in the ChromaSport PDFL’s supplementary competition, Harrox backed up their victory over long-term rivals Netherton United the previous week with another imperious showing.

Striker Declan Earth led the charge with two goals for Kev Nottingham’s side, while Andy Law and Joe Townsend also helped themselves to a goal apiece.

Also boasting two wins from two are fellow South Holland side Crowland Town, who edged out Oundle Town 3-2 in a Snowden Field cracker.

Danny Firth (2) and Corban Oldham did the business for Crowland, despite strikes from Jon Hipwell and Ben Lockley.

However, Pinchbeck United Reserves blew a 1-0 half-time lead as they were handed a 4-1 home reverse by Leverington Sports at Knight Street.

Reece Parker had given Tim Coomes’ side the advantage on 34 minutes, but they were unable to keep that momentum going after the break.

Also beaten were Crowland Town Reserves, who were thrashed 9-0 at Rippingale and Folkingham.

Tydd went down 5-0 at Uppingham Town too, with Will Thomas netting a hat-trick for the hosts in the demolition.

In the Peterborough Junior Cup, Long Sutton Reserves were handed a 6-1 thumping at Farcet United.

Josh Pike was their chief destroyer with a hat-trick, as the Magpies were grounded.

There was a defeat for Tydd Reserves too, as they slipped up 3-2 at home against Orton Rangers.

Elsewhere, Long Sutton A enjoyed a 2-0 victory over Orton Rangers Reserves at London Road – making it two wins from two in the Peterborough Minor Cup.

Sutton Bridge United grabbed their first point in the same competition as they drew 1-1 at Warboys Town Reserves.

Their goal came from the prolific Joseph Sutton.

Holbeach Bank went down 6-0 at home to Wittering Premiar B in the same competition.
