Parking ban plan on town street

Plans to extend the parking restrictions on Holbeach’s Park Road have been unveiled.

Lincolnshire County Council wants to continue the no waiting restrictions to outside the Women’s Institute Hall and County Care Day Centre.
It follows numerous reports of parking in the area along the road, despite there being a public car park nearby.
Numerous complaints have been made, particularly about parking issues at drop off and pick up times at nearby schools.
Coun Tracey Carter said: “There have been challenges there, particularly with regards to the access to the WI Hall.
“I’m in support of this, but lets wait and see what comes back from the consultation.”
Coun Carter also said she’d arranged more signage to be given to local schools in the area including University Academy Holbeach.
She also said she was meeting with the schools later this week to look at any additional actions that could be looked into.
The public notice announcing the Park Road consultation states: “Exemptions are included which will permit waiting for disabled persons’ vehicles and for the purpose of picking up or setting down passengers, loading or unloading of goods the maintenance of the roads and works in connection with the supply of gas, electricity, water and telecommunications apparatus.”
The consultation runs until March 20.
