Pam’s Pride at deserved award

A 78-year-old volunteer who performs great work in the community has received her Pride of South Holland Award.

Pam Elton is the chair of the community support group Here4U.

It provides a twice monthly space for carers and those they care for to get together, sometimes through the programme of entertainment the group puts on.

Pam also chairs the Littlebury Medical Centre Patient Participation Group.

She was unable to attend last month’s Pride of South Holland Awards where she was named as the winner in the Senior Citizen category as voted for by sponsor Calthrops Solicitors.

Instead, friend Michelle Moffat picked up the award on her behalf before presenting it at a recent Here4U gathering.

Toni Barwell, who is also involved with Here4U, said: “Pam has spent decades supporting her local community and is a wonderful, caring woman.”

Here4U is hosting a table top sale at Holbeach Services Men’s Club on Monday (February 23).

The event is free to enter and open to the public.

A spokesman for the group said: “Pop along for a browse, grab a bargain and support your local community.”
