‘Outstanding’ ex-Tulip Millson is a transfer target for Holbeach United

Adam Millson has emerged as a transfer target for Holbeach United after his departure from South Holland rivals Spalding United.

The midfield maestro, who the Tulips signed from Wisbech Town in the summer, left the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field on Monday in search of regular first team football.

A former Boston United player, Millson is proven as a top performer in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division.

Tigers supremo Darren Jarvis admits that he’s made contact with the midfielder, who has told him that he’d like a new club by the weekend.

With Holbeach a little light on numbers in midfield, it’d be a real coup if they could lure the playmaker to Carter’s Park – but they do have numerous rivals for his signature.

Jarvis said: “Adam is a player that has always interested me. He’s an outstanding midfielder – and I think he’d suit our style of play perfectly.

“He’s told me that he wants a new club by the weekend and we hope it’s us.

“We spent 20 minutes on the phone and it was all football, not money.

“He’s got his priorities right and I like that a lot. I’m sure he’s got offers from other clubs too, but we’d be delighted if he chose us.

“If we could get Adam in, it would perhaps free up Andrew Tidswell to return to his more favoured role up front.

“He’s been superb in midfield and I think he’s really enjoying himself, but everyone knows what he can do as a striker.”

Holbeach host Blackstones in the ChromaSport UCL Knockout Cup tonight (Wednesday, 7.45pm).
