Orchestra concert

Three upbeat works are on offer from the City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, June 13.

The night begins at 7.30pm with a piece from the renegade 20th century American composer Charles Ives – The Unanswered Question – for strings, solo trumpet and wind quartet.

The next offering is one of the most popular violin concertos in the repertoire by Tchaikovsky. This piece requires enormous virtuosity and will get it with violinist Harriet Mackenzie.

The second part of the concert features Beethoven’s 2nd symphony, which was revolutionary for its time.

The concert is at The Voyager Academy, Mountsteven Avenue, Walton, and tickets start at £10.50, with children free.
