New three month closure order placed on Spalding shop

A Spalding shop is the latest to be closed for three months for selling illegal cigarettes and vapes.

Maramures Express on Commercial Road was one of five closed by court orders on February 14 and 15.

However, because its owners challenged the closure order, it was initially a one week closure pending a new hearing which was held last Friday.

After hearing representations last week, Boston magistrates ordered a three month closure order on the premises.

It’s the second time in the last six months such a closure has been ordered on the premises. It was closed when known as Spalding Express last August for the same reasons.

The company currently responsible for the shop, Maramures Express Ltd, has had three owners since being incorporated last December. It’s currently owned by Karwan Khatab who was appointed on January 26.
