New good mood cafes to launch

South Holland’s Good Mood Cafes are proving such a hit that two more are opening.

The sessions organised by Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and South Lincolnshire Mind (CPSL) are weekly, informal ‘get-togethers’ designed to connect people within their communities and boost wellbeing.

And after the popularity of ones opened in Spalding, Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge earlier this year, new ones are coming in Holbeach and Crowland.

The Holbeach Good Mood Cafe launches today (Thursday, September 22) and will run at Tonic Health’s new Holbeach Hub every Thursday from 10am to 12noon.

It’s being run in partnership with Boxes of Hope, the organisation set up by Mandy Baxter that’s been provided victims to people displaced by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The Crowland Good Mood Cafe launches Monday (September 26) at The Copper Kettle in North Street from 1.30pm to 3pm.

The partnership with Crowland Community Hub will run every Monday at that time.

A spokesman for CPSL Mind said: “As we move into a winter of great uncertainty, the new cafes in Holbeach and Crowland will ensure that people who are lonely or finding life difficult have somewhere to go.

“Everyone will receive a warm welcome, have the opportunity to chat with others, and find out about other local groups and activities.”

Lisa Gibson, from CPSL Mind, said: “We are delighted to be working with local partners in Crowland and Holbeach to deliver Good Mood Cafes.

“It’s a tough time for lots of people and it’s surprising how much difference simply talking to other people can make.”
