New girls enjoy a season of success

It was a season to remember for Spalding United’s women’s team as they completed a remarkable debut campaign.

The women produced a stunning first season that delivered league glory, cup success and county recognition.

The squad swept to the Cambs League title in dominant fashion, losing just once and finishing the campaign with only two draws from their 20 fixtures.

The Tulips scored 58 league goals while conceding just 14.

Promotion to the Eastern Region League was secured alongside League Cup success, capping a campaign that exceeded even the boldest expectations at the start of the year.

The side also reached the final of the Lincolnshire County FA Women’s Cup, underlining their consistency across multiple competitions.

An impressive early-season run in the Women’s FA Cup qualifiers gave supporters an early glimpse of what was to come.

At the heart of the success was prolific striker Constance Onyinah, whose extraordinary season proved decisive.

She finished as the league’s top scorer with a remarkable 40 goals in all competitions, also contributing 10 assists.

Creativity across the side was equally impressive, with Phoebe Richards-Reeves finishing as the league’s
joint-leading assist provider with 10 in league competition and 14 overall.

Richards-Reeves also shared the captaincy throughout the campaign with Alicia Podd.

With both the men’s and women’s teams celebrating promotion in the same campaign, optimism around the club has rarely been higher.
