MP marks Reserves Day

South Holland and the Deepings MP Sir John Hayes joined one of his staff members at an event to mark Reserves Day recently.

It marks the reserve forces (formerly the Territorial Army) and was celebrated on June 27 as part of Armed Forces Week.

Sir John joined his staff member Dr Lee Rotherham, who is also a major at the British Army Cultural Property Protection Unit, at the event held at Parliament.

Sir John said: “Reserves Day is an important opportunity to recognise the dedication of those who balance civilian careers with military service.

“Their commitment to their duty strengthens our Armed Forces and is worthy of great appreciation.”
