Johnny books in for fire charity

A new children’s book from a mysterious Holbeach author is looking to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity.

The Amazing Adventures of Wing Commander Penrose Bear is the story of the titular character and the six-year-old Olivia who look to save Clown Town while mischievous drones are covering clothes with jam and ice cream.

Officially it’s by the mysteriously named ‘Johnny Mackindo’ and all that’s know about him is he happens to be good friends with Holbeach Fire Crew’s watch manager John Kinder (pictured).

John says it is a story inspired by the Dambusters raids in World War II.

A spokesman for the publishers said: “Written with humour, imagination and positive values, The Amazing Adventures of Wing Commander Penrose Bear encourages friendship, responsibility, teamwork and kindness, all wrapped up in a fun and engaging story that children will want to read again and again.”

The hardback A4 book is now available from Amazon priced at £11.99.

John is also looking to hear from any local stores which might be able to stock the book.
