LETTERS – No need for lower speed limit

As a regular user of Cowbit Road in Spalding, I disagree with what has been said in relation to the speed limit being lowered.

The 60mph zone has been in place for many years and people who live on that road would have know about this speed limit when they moved into their property.

While I understand that it might be difficult getting out of driveways into a 60mph limit, there are alternative means such as having a mirror installed opposite their driveway.

This way they can see approaching traffic round the bend from the view of their driveways without it being a problem.

To suggest it being lowered to 30mph, half the current speed limit, is ridiculous.

I have spoken to Coun Mark le Sage about this very issue, as well as another publisher who agreed on certain points involving a particular junction on this same stretch of road.

Overall, I think the speed limit is suitable considering it is a main road leading out of town towards the A16.
