Movie theme to joint prom night

Students from two Spalding schools joined forces for a prom night celebration.

The Year 11 groups at Spalding High and Grammar schools held meetings throughout the year to plan their big event.

With the theme of A Night at the Movies, the students dressed in their finest red carpet clothes and headed for the South Holland Centre.

With Oscar statues on the tables and cardboard cut-outs of famous actors, there was a definite Hollywood feel to the event.

Teenagers arrived in everything from a VW camper to a motorbike.

Head of Year 11 at the high school, Victoria Hickson, said the night had been a great success.

“They planned it and had meetings together – it was a lovely evening,” she said.
