Mother’s Day tea in aid of marathon effort

Eating cake is not normally part of your preparation but Marie Sampson is positively encouraging it this Mother’s Day.

As part of her fund-raising efforts ahead of the London Marathon next month, the 40-year-old mum of two has helped organise a special Mother’s Day Vintage Afternoon Tea.

The event takes place on Sunday (March 11) at Pinchbeck Village Hall from 11am to 4pm and is being organised by VinTEAage and Marie’s company Slice of Life Photography.

Marie is looking to raise £1,000 for the Remember My Baby Remembrance Photography Charity.

Marie, who suffered the loss of her twins, is one of the charity’s professional volunteer photographers who visit families who have just experienced the loss of their baby.

Marie said: “The training for the marathon is going well despite the horrible recent weather.”

Sunday’s afternoon tea is available at £15 per person or £7 per child aged 5-13.

It includes a glass of fizz, a selection of sandwiches and cakes as well as a gift for the mums.

Stall holders and entertainers are also being invited to attend and there will be a host of sales and a raffle.

For those not wishing to book a table you can pop in and purchase a slice of cake and drink as well.

To book a table contact Mary on 07561507207 or email Vinteage@hotmail.co.uk
