Moreman on target again to end Tulips’ fine first week PLUS round-up, results

Seven points from the opening week is a very satisfactory start to the season for Spalding United.

Josh Moreman fired a second-half winner as the Tulips beat Tividale 2-1 at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field.

Defender Neal Spafford had headed Pat Rayment’s side ahead  after just two minutes.

Tividale, who won 2-0 in the corresponding fixture last February, fashioned an equaliser through Ashley Jackson two minutes into the second half.

However, winger Moreman, who scored in the 2-0 midweek win over Loughborough Dynamo, netted on 77 minutes to extend the Tulips’ unbeaten start. They sit fifth in the early placings.

Over at Carter’s Park, a pair of second-half penalties within two minutes rescued an unlikely point for Holbeach United.

Josh Ford hammered both into the same spot to complete a comeback from 2-0 down against Northamton Spencer.

In the ChromaSport and Trophies Peterborough League, Moulton Harrox extended their perfect start to the season to four wins with a 4-1 result at Ketton.

Holbeach United Reserves continue to go well too, returning from Uppingham Town with a 4-0 win.

However, Pinchbeck United slumped to a third defeat in five matches. They went down 3-0 at Peterborough Sports Reserves.
