More than 200 children at South Holland Primary Schools’ Music Festival

Scores of children from 11 schools came together for the annual South Holland Primary Schools’ Music Festival on Tuesday (June 6).

The event was hosted by Spalding Parish Church of England Day School.

Vicki Twell, teacher at Holbeach’s William Stukeley Primary School and event chairman, said: “This year’s theme was film and TV and each school performed individually songs learned beforehand as well as learning some new songs together on the day.
“In the afternoon we pay a professional musician to lead the children in a workshop/concert, which is always stimulating and exciting for both children and teachers.”

Attending schools included those in The Griffin Federation, Weston Hills, Whaplode, Long Sutton, Holbeach Primary Academy, William Stukeley and Spalding’s Ayscoughfee Hall and St John’s.

Spalding Beer and Music Festival donated £200 to enable the festival to have Act II Theatre Company there.
