A medical practice that was threatened with closure after twice being rated ‘inadequate’ has been rated ‘good’ across the board in its latest report.
Holbeach Medical Centre was placed in special measures by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in March 2019 after inspectors rated it inadequate on safety, responsiveness and leadership and said it required improvement in caring and effectiveness.
After a follow-up inspection two months later it was told it had six months to improve or face potential closure.
It came out of special measures in January 2020 but the CQC still said it required improvement overall and particularly in being safe and responsive.
However in the CQC’s latest report published following an inspection in August it’s been rated ‘Good’ in every category.
The report says: “The practice provided care in a way that kept patients safe and protected them from avoidable harm.
“Patients received effective care and treatment that met their needs.
“Staff dealt with patients with kindness and respect and involved them in decisions about their care.
“The practice adjusted how it delivered services to meet the needs of patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Patients could access care and treatment in a timely way.
“The way the practice was led and managed promoted the delivery of high-quality, person-centre care.”
