The Green Party has unveiled Martin Blake as its parliamentary candidate for the South Holland and the Deepings ward.
The Spalding resident is a former Cambridge City councillor.
Martin said in a statement: “Our national concerns pale into insignificance compared to the global threat of climate change.
“We only have until 2030 to radically change the way we do business, but politicians across much of the world prefer to bury their head in the sand.”
On Brexit he said: “It’s been over three years since the country voted to leave, and we’re all a lot better informed now about the likely consequences.
“Before we take such a monumental step, the most democratic way forward is to ask the people of the United Kingdom if they’re being offered what they voted for.”
